Just an FYI to anyone using these old laptops with Windows 10 - make sure all the wireless adapters are enabled before upgrading. Would there have been a way to re-enable Bluetooth without that key combination? Without Windows 7, I'm not sure if that would have been possible. With this done, Bluetooth is working fine now in Windows 10. What I had to do was to swap the hard drive back to Windows 7, enable Bluetooth, then put the Windows 10 hard drive back in.

Bluetooth was originally disabled and when I went to Windows 10, the key combination to enable it doesn't work (despite me installing many drivers and such).Īpparently, that Fn+F5 combination disables Bluetooth at a hardware level and since the key combination doesn't work in Windows 10, I couldn't turn it back on. We're sorry but English Community-Lenovo Community doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.When in inserted the hard drive back into the laptop and plugged in my Windows 10 USB i found that the Windows 10 logo pops out and then the whole computer just shuts down and restarts. so that i could do a clean windows 10 install. On Windows 7, everything worked, most importantly the Fn+F5 combination to enable/disable wifi and bluetooth. I Have a ThinkPad T510, and im having an incredibly hard time installing Windows 10 on it. smiif32.sys is probably Lenovo System Interface Driver, try to find it. I said that because the website might provide you 2 option (power manager utility and power manager driver, which I believe I saw it before, mine thinkpad is T400). I chose Windows 10, swapped the hard drives, and did a fresh install. For the power manager thing, make sure you download the power manager driver. I purchased it from a company but had to provide my own Windows license. The story with this computer is that it originally came with Windows 7. OK - so I've managed to solve the problem.
